Parcel Monitor: The Growth of Collection Points in Germany
Collection points are becoming an increasingly popular way to send and receive parcels in many parts of the world. This includes Germany where unconventional modes of delivery like parcel lockers and in-store pickups are gaining traction in recent years. Deutsche Post alone has 8,500 automated parcel machines in operation today, with plans to expand its network to 12,500 by 2023.
From a customer’s point of view, collection points are an extremely convenient option due to their strategic locations in residential areas and near the workplaces. In addition, collection points are also beneficial to the courier companies as they allow them to reach new areas and expand their customer base.
With this in mind, our media partner Parcel Monitor recently released a report that contains an in-depth analysis of the growth of collection points in Germany. Furthermore, the article provides a brief comparison between the German collection point market and two of its European neighbours, namely France and the United Kingdom.
